About NanoTech IT
Strengthening the digital foundations of New Zealand businesses through practical cybersecurity, governance, and resilience.
NanoTech IT helps small and medium businesses across Aotearoa strengthen their cybersecurity posture, meet compliance expectations, and operate with confidence in an increasingly complex digital landscape.
With more than two decades of real-world technology and security experience, we deliver practical, standards-aligned cybersecurity solutions designed specifically for the New Zealand market.
Our Mission
NanoTech IT exists to make enterprise-level cybersecurity knowledge accessible to New Zealand small and medium businesses.
Many organisations operate with limited security controls, unclear governance, and increasing exposure to cyber threats. At the same time, most SMBs cannot justify the complexity or cost of maintaining enterprise security teams.
NanoTech IT bridges this gap.
We deliver practical cybersecurity frameworks, governance models, and resilience planning aligned with globally recognised standards, including:
• CIS Controls v8.1
• New Zealand Information Security Manual (NZISM)
• Essential Eight (Australia)
• ISO/IEC 27001
Our focus is simple:
Help New Zealand businesses operate securely, responsibly, and confidently in a digital-first world.

Why Organisations Choose NanoTech IT
Security Built for SMBs
Our services are specifically designed for organisations with 2–200 staff — the segment most frequently targeted by cyber threats but often underserved by enterprise security providers.
NanoTech IT delivers practical, scalable cybersecurity solutions that match the risk profile and operational realities of small and medium businesses.
Standards-Aligned Security
We align our services with globally recognised cybersecurity frameworks to ensure organisations implement security practices that are structured, measurable, and resilient.
Frameworks we support include:
• CIS Critical Security Controls (v8.1)
• New Zealand Information Security Manual (NZISM)
• Essential Eight (Australia)
• ISO/IEC 27001
Governance + Technical Security
Many providers focus purely on technical controls. NanoTech IT combines cybersecurity governance, compliance, and operational security to help organisations manage risk effectively.
This integrated approach ensures security investments align with business objectives, regulatory expectations, and operational resilience.
Strategic Cyber Leadership
Through services such as NanoTrust Advisory™ (vCISO), we provide executive-level cybersecurity leadership and strategic security guidance for organisations that require strategic guidance but do not need a full-time Chief Information Security Officer.
This enables businesses to access enterprise-grade cybersecurity expertise without enterprise-level overheads.
Our Approach

Understand your organisation’s current cybersecurity posture by identifying vulnerabilities, operational risks, and gaps in existing security controls.
Step 2 -Strengthen
mplement foundational security controls, governance frameworks, and operational safeguards to reduce risk exposure and improve resilience.
Step 3 - Align
Ensure your organisation aligns with recognised cybersecurity frameworks including CIS Controls v8.1, NZISM, Essential Eight, and ISO/IEC standards.
